are the panels, the front and the top is the same plastic as the ophantom 410 has or it is metal ?

all phantom cases have a lot of plastic in the exterior, the H440 is a much better option from NZXT

Heyyo,

Definitely plastic. I have one. :P

proof of ownership:

https://pcpartpicker.com/b/sNPscf

It's a pretty good case mind you... but eh, cable management isn't as good as I was hoping for. There isn't nearly as much room behind the case for management for cables and the front and top of the case says it's good for 200mm fans? But They only support the minimum mounts of the NZXT style 200mm fans... if I knew that upon purchase? I would have never bought this case tbh.

Those pics in my PcPartPicker build page are a little dated... since then? I've moved my Storage drives up further and took out the two bottom storage drive bins to improve airflow. I don't know why I didn't think about that when I first built the damn PC. :P

You definitely don't want those storage drive cases there as they block the majority of the airflow from the front fan mounts AND the bottom front fan... so that's a design fault from NZXT. They shouldn't have set up those storage cases there.

These two cages I removed:

phantom-530-case-hdd-cage-white-interior

You can see how big they are and imagine how they'd obstruct air.

What I'm saying is I bought these 200mm fans:

http://www.ncix.com/detail/bitfenix-spectre-pro-bff-lpro-20025r-rp-200mm-4b-66097.htm

And they don't fit properly because the mounts are too wide... the mounts can only support these minimum style mounts:

http://www.ncix.com/detail/bitfenix-spectre-bff-scf-20020ww-rp-white-200mm-45-64850.htm

Because the top (aka front) panel inputs get in the way on the top and the front cover gets in the way for that front 200mm mount... sigh. There's also that bottom bracket below those two cages, I removed that too for better airflow from my bottom-front 120mm fan. It completely blocks the airflow from that. I was getting terrible dust build up on that side panel fan grill where I don't have a fan mounted right meow.

Also, right on the NZXT website? It says the build is a mix of metal and plastic:

https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/134-phantom-530.html

all-metal builds are nice sure... but they costs a lot. Do you plan on moving your PC a lot? Is that why you want metal? If not? Then a mix of plastic and metal is just fine, just be careful when toating it around.

One last thing... you can see this video here how damn hard it is to remove that top panel lol... and it is that brutal every time due to the barbed pin system they used. :P

In reality? If I knew what I know now and I had the case choise of today? I'd totally get a Fractal Design Define S... it's perfect for airflow design and I don't need a DVD drive anymore mounted in my PC tbh... at most? I could always just use a USB one if I really needed to, or temporarily open the side of my case and use a SATA connector or something lol. :P

I've only ever used a DVD drive for installing Windows on my PC on an EFI setup for fun... my Z68 motherboard doesn't support booting to an EFI USB drive, only EFI DVD Drive because it was at that awkward period when EFI was still being setup as the standard we know today as... UEFI.
