hi,

A while back my pc suddenly got a lot slower with programs that were located on my hard drive.

Then it happend that constantly an error would show up saying Microsoft Windows stopped working.

I downloaded HD Tune Pro and looked at the errors that were on my hard drive and there was one about heat (sorry I can't be more detailed).

I couldn't do anything, in task manager my hard drive was constantly at 100% active and I couldn't copy or open anything on it.

Now about 2-3 weeks later I start up my pc because i decided I was going to buy a new hard drive and suddenly the hard drive doesn't go above 20% and stays below 1% most of the time..

BUT in This PC it shows that I have 1.4 TB in use on that hard drive while when I look inside my folders it seems about 1.2TB of data is just gone and there is almost nothing left.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or is my hard drive broken and do I just need to get a new one?

Can you download and install CrystalDiskInfo?

I installed it but it won't find the hard drive that i think is broken

Do you have any issues with other programs recognizing the drive? Does the drive ever "drop"?
