Im thinking about building a website that guides people on how to do things.  For example, notice in my signature, I have a link to a post I made on here on how to install Windows correctly.  Its super detailed (I think) and describes the steps, why you're doing the steps, and why you do the steps the way that you're doing them.

I hate getting on here and seeing people tell people how they do things, thinking that their way is best.  I think everyone should be showed how to do things, and the full steps on it.

One of the recent post that caused me to come to this conclusion was someone was baffled why their "Windows Boot Media" didn't work because they had their "key on the USB drive".  It made me think, "how far has this poor soul been thrown off the tracks"?

I don't want to create a fourm, I want to create a series of guides.  Obviously I want it to be the best it could be, and I don't think it could be the best possible if I did it on my own.  Would anyone be willing to help?  I plan to fully support it financially, I just need some help with the content and management of the site.

Let me know what you guys think.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

ok ,

are YOU a programmer? because there are various ways to tackle this..

1. create a simply wordpress website. its easy to manage and you can start posting your tutorials today!

2. use squarespace etc to create a nicer website which is ready in seconds

3. program a website from the start to the end, everything by yourself (PHP, JS, AJAX, HTML, CSS) knowledge will be required to make it functional the way you might want it to be

number 1 will be the cheapest option, wordpress is free!

number 2 will be the nicest option because. you know.. squarespace

number 3 is the most expensive from the start. you are investing alot of time into creating the site, and if this is one of your first sites it wont look that great either

now,  number 3 has 1 huge advantage.

its UNIQUE

you can do WHATEVER you want

and its very easy to move host etc

so yea. thats your options. what will you choose?

Okay, so I'm finally home and can give a full reply.

I am very fluid in all forms of HTML and could EASILY build a website.  I personally will finance the whole situation as money really isn't a issue.  Honestly I will probably choose some kind of hosting service over a dedicated server, for a bunch of reasons.  Redundancy being a big part of it and bandwidth being another huge part.

Anyways, I will probably have a prototype built shortly.  I think I will start on it this week.  I already have a plan and a design, I just need people to help make it completely awesome and exactly what it needs to be.
