Which Card Should I Get?

So I was wondering if I should get this card https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp43968kr instead of the MSI R9 390. I want to be able to game at 1080p on ultra. I'll mainly be playing arma 3 and my cpu is an i7 4790k. So is arma 3 on ultra at 1080p going to work with these specs? As in work I mean at like close to 60 fps.

You don't need an I7 for gaming

So if you could downgrade to an I5 you can get a better GPU

The R9 390 would be a better option, but I don't know if you'll get 60 FPS on ultra. If I remember correctly, that game isn't very well optimized, right?

Well it's too late for me to get an i5 because I bought the i7 already but I plan on streaming anyways. Also I saw a thread saying that the r9 390 was messing up and would constantly stop working.

just because one guy had issues doesnt mean you will. the 390 is a solid card i would recommend it

Take the 390, it is better by far, it is more comparable to a gtx 970. Any issues with it are quite rare, and if you do have issues you can use different driver versions, for example my gtx 970 was crashing heaps but using an older driver fixed it.

my buddy layne has a 4790k and a msi 980 and even he cant max arma 3. its just so poorly optimized dont expect much

Yeah a 390 will work just fine. The main thing to look at for ARMA 3 is your CPU as the game very CPU bound. I have a friend that plays ARMA 3 with a 4690 and 970 and most of the time he gets 60+fps, since you will have an i7 you should get at least the same if not better performance in ARMA3.

390 is a lot better than the 960 and has 4 times the USABLE memory - 960 can barely go above 2 GB of VRAM so the 4 gig version is pointless unless you SLI them which I would not recommend.

Not sure, but if ARMA 3 works the same way as ARMA 2 then the higher you set you graphic settings then the more it will use your GPU and the lower the settings are the more it uses your CPU. It was something like that in ARMA 2, really strange.
