Headphone advice

Hey, I wanna get some HyperX Cloud I's for now, but I have a job and I'm saving up for waay later down the road to buy some nice open back headphones. My first pick (with almost no context or use; only from listening to reviews) is the BeyerDynamic DT990 pro. I am completely open to other suggestions, but want to know if they will need a DAC or amp to drive them. Also, I know Senheisser has some cheaper open-air headphones which are the same price range as the Hyperx Clouds. I'm not a competitive player, so I just want an immersive gaming headphone. Thx  :D
