Hey Guys,

I have a small Server with 2 x 2 TB Drives and its running on linux opensuse where it is almost impossible to set up raid.

So basicly I need a raid Controler. My questions are:

1. How do they (The Controlers) work

2. How do I set it up

3. Which one should I buy?

1. They act as the controller for the drives connected to it, they have their own BIOS and need to be set to allow to boot your drive/raid array. Regular BIOS can also set which controller is higher ranked to boot, you probably have done that before.

2. Enter the Raid Controller BIOS and set up raid after connecting the drives you have for the Raid array, just like you do on the motherboard.

3. Depends on price like everything else in life. Need to narrow it down as there's many and also depends on what you want the Raid card to do and possible future growth?

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
