NEED HELP BADLY!

Ok so here's the story.

I was running win8.1 pro and decided to do the update to the win10 preview. It gets to the point to where it says something like "hi, welcome back", and I click next and it hangs there. After it hangs, it restarts then goes back to that screen clicks next and hangs (repeat). I give up and try a system image restore. It fails and says that the os on disk and os backed up need to be the same. so I re-install win8 pro from my oem disk. Then get all win8 updates needed. Then get 8.1 update. and then try the system image restore again. It fails again saying the same message. Even though both os's are the SAME. I called Microsoft and some of them claim they can't help me. So I turn to you guys. The smart as F@#k community. I need your help badly, but please do know that I highly doubt that my system image backup is bad because I test it as soon as the backup is done being created. So thanks to anyone who can help me out!!!! I would rather use my backup than re-install everything again. But am in the slow process of installing my software again while waiting for a hopeful fix on my problem. So thanks again guys for the help!!!!!
