GPU Water-cooling Information

Hey, so I have a bit of spare money and I was thinking of possibly water-cooling my GPUs in my build. So I am looking for some information on what would be the best equipment to use. I don't think I would want to go for a custom loop, maybe in a future build, but not now.

 

I currently have a ASUS and a MSI (non-reference) GTX 780. They both hover around the 75-85 degree mark and I would like to see that lower and maybe some room for overclocking. My case is the NZXT original Phantom. I have been looking at the Kraken G10 and wasn't sure if it would fit the GPUs that I have, and wasn't sure what the best AIO would be for my price range.

 

I'm thinking about a budget of about $120 (AUD) max for each GPU.

A waterblock for my r9 390x cost be about 115 bucks plus 25 shipping. It was overseas shipping and arrived 3 days after the order though.

do you only have stock fans in the phantom? if not what kind of fan set up do you have?

stock fans, only other fan is the cpu cooler.

I was thinking water cooling as it can get up to 39-42 degrees in summer time as the standard temperature.

Well that is hot but if you have the spacing you would be surprised how much some good fans would help that situation. i have the phantom 630 window edition. airflow can be a issue with those cases. with no direction to the air it can cause issues for heat getting out.

So you are suggesting that I get some new third-party fans and install them in a directional air-flow for the case instead of just water-cooling the GPUs right?

Which direct do you have your fans going? To the back or the top?

 

Got a third party brand of fans that you would recommend?

thats is what I'm saying. i have mine mainly going to the top. depends on how much per fan you want to spend. personally i don't like corsair sp fans but the af fans are pretty good.

So what would the sound difference between the performance and quiet editions be? It's a different of 9db on the site, but I don't know what that sounds like in real-life.

That I'm really not sure about but i can tell you from what I've heard that the quiet editions perform way worse than the normal or performance editions. be quiet makes some pretty awesome fans and the new fractal fans are supposed to be pretty awesome.
