Safe Max temp?

I have a new rig and I searched for a max temperature of my cpu which is a Athlon 860k it seems to idle at around 30-40 and with fan xpert on load it gots to high 60's low 70's. What would be a safe max temperature? 75c?

i think it may be 75c but dont qoute me on that.

 

why are you stress testing an athlon anyway surely youre not using it for rendering etc.

I'm not stress testing it I'm using it for gaming

Well, keep it under 100°C... ^^

Then the lower you get the better, I'd say below 85°C is totally fine...

Personally, I'd keep it under 75*C but you should really only consider it an issue if it goes over 80*C. A cooler might help or just setting the fan at a higher speed.

It's normal. If fans don't go faster temps would be higher. AMD's fans can go up to 3200 RPM.

Well, you could always get a cheap cooler like the 212 EVO from Cooler Master or the Arcitc Freezer to keep temps down. I used to get 62*C pretty regularly and now I barely go above 45*C with the Freezer 13.
