hey guys its me again,

so my boss tasked me with finding a good 3d modelling software and i thought id ask around. here are the requirements:

- clear dimension like readable values in cm or whatever

- flow and bend/stress simulation

- mechanical function meaning it should be possible to modell a motor for example and it should work accordingly

basicly we are new in that field and need a good piece of software that we can build on. the plan is to do some engineering samples with it we need to make sure that they are ok in terms of heat and stability

if anyone of you know some good tools id appreciate your input. btw the cost of the software is not important

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

Solidworks.

You need to make sure your Workstation fulfills the requirements for simulation work i.e. ECC memory & Quadro/Firepro

something were i could do some work at home also? i mean getting workstations for the office is one thing but i would be great if there was a way to use the software from home also

You can design on any spec PC really (within reason), but the sim & rendering work requires specific hardware AFAIK

ohh ok thanks well i guess ill have to remote desktop then
