#1 I have a windows update (currently using Win 7) which will not download / install for some reason despite many efforts of restarting, will this prevent me from downloading windows 10 when the time comes?

#2 Will I need to redownload / backup / store anything prior to the update?

#3 I have Home Premium, will I be able to halt updates (through the normal method [i know there's others])?

#4 How will Direct x12 affect (if at all) current games? (For specifics that pertain to me; FFXIV WoW CS:GO LoL Dota2 HoTS)

#5 Have a nice day and thanks for reading & any answers you provide! :)

Edit: #6 I suppose it's worth mentioning in addition to #1, there are also several smaller updates (7 of them) which I have yet to do so same question.

#1 Probably won't be a problem

#2 All setting, files and most programs should be kept (http://www.intowindows.com/you-can-upgrade-to-windows-10-preview-without-losing-installed-programs/)

#3 Probably not (http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/07/windows-10-updates-to-be-automatic-and-mandatory-for-home-users/)
