why? mantle is no longer supported...

amd is leaving it to die

does windows 8 support mantle? i mean the amd driver for windows 8 supports mantle? or just 7 / 8.1 ?

As far as I know it should. It should just be a GPU driver.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

Mantle has already been upgraded into Vulkan, the next OpenGL standard. Why are you stuck with windows 8, and not using 8.1?

Mantle should work fine on Windows 8/8.1

AMD stop supporting win8, better upgrade to 8.1 or 10.

Mantle will work but don't worry about it. AMD doesn't spend much time on it anymore and are not optimizing it.

They are focused on DX12 and Vulkan. Also AMD's drivers in general perform best in windows 10.

well, i just wonder why i dont get mantle as an option in BF4 since im using 14.3 on win 8 .. even 14.4

Why are using old drivers?

Always stay up to date when it comes to GPU drivers. Even the beta releases are solid. But right now the latest is non-beta WHQL catalyst 15.7.

Yes, Mantle works in Windows 8 as well but if i recall correctly you're using R9-285 amirite?
