Posted July 21, 2015 About 2 months ago, I used DXTory to record for my Youtube channel. All was fine, I was able to record any game at 1080p 60fps, I mostly record Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, CSGO, and others. All recorded at 1080p 60fps, no questions asked. One random day, it just decided to drop my FPS to 25 under any game under any Codec at all. I used MagicYuv, all the UtVideo codecs and such which worked wonders before, no difference, 25FPS across the board just like Mew's stats of 100 across the board. Since then I reinstalled DXTory again and again but there was no better results and I had to resort to using Bandicam to record. Keep in mind that I recorded the video files from my hard drive to my hard drive without the needs of an external USB or a second drive. These are my computer specs: Core i7 4790K @4.00 GHz AMD R9 270X 1TB HDD @ 7200 RPM Asus Maximus VI Gene Motherboard 16GB DDR3 Ram Corsair VS650 Power supply The question now is: How do I get it to work as it used to? 1080p @ 60FPS and not record at a lowly 25fps? Posted July 21, 2015 Holy mother of bottleneck Anyway, there should be a config file with what you want your FPS to cap it in DXTory, have you checked that? Also, have you tried using OBS to record? Posted July 21, 2015 As you only have one storage drive, you are writing and reading to it at the same time. This can cause major performance issues, especially having only a 7200 RPM HDD.. Might be worth investing in a SSD for your OS and a few games and just leave the HDD for recording.
