The R7 360 is only $110. Solid card. http://goo.gl/OoGMD9

A little bit much, eventually, I will get a new PC entirely, so I don't want to spend any more that ~30 on a gpu. I don't need a good one, just one to tide me over and let me play games on low.

PC SPECS: Athlon 860k, MSI 380 4GB, 8GB memory, 1TB HDD, Fractal Design Core 1000

If I were you I'd just wait it out instead of spending money on something that's going to be practically useless to you in a little while (unless you have plans to use it in something else after).

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I don't think you can get a GPU for that cheap! Maybe a GT 720?

You're going to have a hard time at that price. Just get the new PC ASAP.

$110 is considered cheap in the GPU world, $30 is just ridiculous.

I'm talking about one off ebay. There are tons of cheap ones.

I just checked eBay for a few minutes, all I could find are some GT 610s http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Galaxy-GeForce-GT-610-1GB-DDR3-PCI-Express-2-0-Graphic-Card-/251959754933?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa9f8c0b5

They're pretty trash but they'll do for the lowest settings.

For the price you can't go wrong with this.  One of the best DX10 cards for the money.  I doubt your rig will handle DX11 well.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/XFX-NVIDIA-GeForce-8800-GT-Alpha-Dog-Edition-512MB-DDR3-Dual-DVI-Video-Card-/311404679705?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item48812a5219

Not bad for $40

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-260-Core-216-PCI-Express-2-0-x16-SLI-Supported-Video-Card-/161766886650?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25aa0eccfa

I wouldn't spend too much money on that rig of your's.  There's really nothing worth salvaging.

Either one of the cards above will allow you to play games on low to medium settings at around 40fps at 900p.

If you decide to build a rig over time, buy the gpu last.  They seem to go down in prices sooner than CPUs.  Heck CPUs have fixed pricing.  Pentiums are below $80, i3s are always around $130, i5s are around $200 while the i7s are around $300.  ALWAYS.
