hello guys, i have P67A-C43 Motherboard, sandy bridge i7. Currently i have 8 gb of ram  1333mhz ( kit of 2) and i would like to add 8 gb more. But the problem is that one of 4 slots of my ram is blocked by my CPU cooler, so i have only 3 slots available. So, the question is : What will happen if

1)  i add exactly same brand and type memory with same 4 gb for one slot ( so it will be 3 slots filled, one slot free( every slot with 4gb 1333 ddr3 same brand memory))
2) i will do the same,  but other brand ( still ddr3  4gb 1333)
3)i will add same type ddr3 1333 mhz memory BUT with 8gb ( so it will be 4gb, 8gb, 4gb, one slot free )

thanks for the attention.

Should work, but keep in mind that all RAM must operate at the same speed.

What CPU Cooler do you have? (If it's a H100i or so) Just flip the Rad around and pump, correct it to the right way round.

I mean rotate basically.

So if it's blocking like that.

Change it to something like:

+ Note, the |||| AND SO ON IN THE RAM SLOTS.

Hope this helped.

It doesn't have to be the same speed to work however, if you have a 1333mhz ram then you go buy a 1600mhz stick, that 1600 stick will downclock to 1333 so it will auto adjust to the lowest frequency.

Also @eriksonics2 you could get low profile RAM to make it fit in under the CPU cooler.

Thanks for your effort :D, i have 212 evo cooler master. But wont it spoil my case airflow or something if i flip my rad around? so the main fan will be from other side and really close to other fan ( fan on my case) ? and btw, should i also change thermalpaste on my cpu if i simply flip rad around?

You could have the fan in the same orientation but on the other side where it will still pull air through the radiator. Which they will be really close. And you could change your thermal paste, Depending if there's not alot left on there or if it's not been changed in quite some time, that's optional.
