So, I'm getting the Z77 Mpower motherboard becuase I already have the i5 3570k

and I'm planning on overclocking it

I have the CM Hyper T4 CPU cooler at the moment, and my idle temps are 40c~ is that too high?

I've used cooler master thermal fusion 400 thermal paste

how many Ghz can I get before its too hot?

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

Late 2015 Build : Intel i7 6700k // Asus Maximus VI Gene Z170 //  Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Gigabyte GTX 970 // Corsair Air 240

Idle temps says nothing you want load temps.

A heavy game will also do. You can use Intel burnin test or aida64.

Okay, I'll do some testing, thanks

I will be getting the Nocits 450 which will have probably better airflow than my Zalman Z9 Plus, which I hope will improve temps

its not that mate, its just the fact its a low end cooler, you want  to be upgrading the cooler.

the temps you get on stock with a t4 are what i get with a cryorig r1 ultimate at 4.4ghz 1.2v.

Well, your Cryorig has like 3 fans built it and its huge, ofc it will preform better, I just don't want my CPU to exceed 75c on load at 4.4Ghz 1.2, I'll do a lot of stress testing and what not to make sure I can get a stable overclock

i never said it wouldnt.... its got two fans btw, im just trying to help, you may not get lower then 75c at 4.4ghz but good luck.

I will invest into getting an H100 or the kraken from NZXT soon enough, thanks for your feedback :)
