I just received my new headset, bought it off Amazon. I have the Sades SA-808 Gaming Headset. I am having difficulty on picking up the mic and wondering if I connected it correctly. The headset has A USB port for lighting, a headphone and microphone jack. One color is green and one color is red.

I usually use an HDMI cable from my PC to my TV. I tried connecting my headset to the audio jacks on the front of my PC (audio and microphone) however I heard nothing. I then tried to connect my headset to my TV, it contains a USB port, and (I believe) 2 jacks, however they are far from each other and the leads are too short, so I wasn't able to connect them on the TV.
Troubleshooting, I decided to use a DVI/VGA cable and connected it to my TV. I'm currently trying to hook up my headset and so far I was able to get sound. I am using the rear I/O and cannot seem to pick up a microphone.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

^ and make sure you set the headset as your default device instead of what most likely your is set as your TV
