No logical person goes above SLI. 3-way can be unstable. No logical persona gets aa Titan X. A 980Ti performs the same and those in SLI will,be more then enough. You can't put ddr3 ram on a ddr4 board. A 5960x is completely overkill. The most you should need is a 5820k if you truly want a x99 system. If this is gaming and video rendering/editing 4790kmwith a z97 board and 16gbs of ram is PLENTY along with those 980Tis in SLI.

Oh then it's totally fine. Pretty much like buying a giant XXXL burger for when you are a little peckish then, ....decent bit more than what you need but it will certainly get you full.

EDIT: Oh nvm :3.

and me being the PSU nanny i am becoming, what PSU are you plotting using with that build?.

Right use PCPartPicker.com in the future.

Honestly.. Get a 5820k and get a nice cooler like a corsair h100i or a little on the pricey side a NZXT x61 Kraken and overclock the heck out of it.

I'd only get 16gbs of ram and if you need more you can always get more.

Only get 989tis in SLI. After SLI like 3 or z4 way it can be unstable and the more you SLI as in 3-way or 4 , you aren't getting the performance you should out of the card.

What other parts are you getting? PSU, case, cooler, all that good jazz. Like I said use PCPartPicker it helps a lot.

I giggled at PSU cooler but what cooler is it. ( I know, you meant CPU.) What series is the PSU? Hopefully one of the SuperFlower OEMs.

there is a 99.9 % chance this is a troll....... If this was a massive post and he planned on doing I build log I would believe otherwise, but this just seems like hes trying to gloat.

I dont know maybe ill use the the stock cooler Kappa. i might get myself a corsair h11 MIGHT

the h100i? Like I said I'd just go with a i7-5820k and get the h100i to overclock the heck out of it. I'd stick with two 980tis. Should be more then enough to do what you need to do. Plus to stay low on price stick with 16gbs of ddr4 and add more if it's needed. What you want is simply way to overkill and Titan Xs aren't really tap good card to buy esp cully for the price.
