Dont worry it cant be that bad. Its true that sometimes custom build can be cheaper but not a lot. Make a configuration for a bit lower price and tell them to ask that guy to make pcs with those components. That way they will have quality pc. win-win

That's fine for the brothers build but her build she wants to only spend £150 on it, which she can spend on the CPU, MOBO, RAM and HDD. The rest I am supplying to her second hand

Well I wouldn't worry too hard.  I have no time for people who aren't willing to listen.  If she has a junk computer maybe she'll want to come over and use yours.

Just annoying because it could be so much more

Give those components to that guy so he assembles a pc. He probably wont take any money for installing your components.

Put together a build that is the same price or even a lower price, but is better.

If they think prebuilts are the way to go, do you really think they will notice ? Or will it matter to them ? I think that's the problem here.

He will, I would be fine if he built it for free, no problem, but he charged £35 to remove a graphics card from her old PC

Maybe ask them if you could build it with your own money and that you'd test it then charge them for whatever you paid for the parts

for 150£ not really.

The build was pretty decent, i3, msi MOBO, 4GB DDR3 RAM then with my parts which are a 500w Coolermaster PSU, RAdeon HD 7770 and a CiT Vantage case, which isn't great but will do

I have no where near enough money to pay for it, I have 38p in my bank and like 10p in my wallet
