I am using i7 4820k(3,9GHz in turbo mode) on p9x79 deluxe asus motherboard. For cooling I use corsair H110i, connected with low noise adapters noctua fans. It is hot in my country, ambient temperature reaches 31 degrees Celsius. Recently I noticed that hottest core temperature reached 70 degrees in aida stress test. It is to high for my taste so I thought about removing noise adapters. It was to loud for me so I tried to look for other way. I noticed that my vcore on auto settings in BIOS reaches 1,24V at max load, I checked that it is to high for 3,9GHz boost. It seems that this series of asus boards sets voltage to high on auto settings. I adjusted it manually and reached stable operation at 1,1V. The temperature droop was outstanding from 70 to 62 degrees at max load. But one thing troubled me, with power saving options enabled, when in idle or under light load, my cpu dropped his speed and vcore. Now it is that only speed is throttling down but not the vcore.

Is there a way for my p9x79 deluxe motherboard, to tweak power options(like offset mode) to allow auto decreasing vcore on low load and set the voltage cap to 1,1 on full load?

EDIT:

I came with a solution. I used offset vcore settings to adjust my max voltage. I setup a negative voltage of 0,16V, my system was crashing at bootup. Then I changed my bootup voltage from auto to 1,1V, it works now and passes all the stress tests. I hope that this will help somebody with similar problems.
