Single CPU One Fan Rad Enough?

"Silent temps"

Wat? The temperature doesn't make noise lol.

A single rad should easily be enough, just get some quieter pressure-optimized fans for it and you should be good.

Is a radiator that can only support one fan enough to cool a CPU or should it be more? (Under full load for silence) Would it still be possible to achieve silent/low temps with a single fan rad?

If it matters - 4790K - been told those can still run pretty hot

More than single fan my question is, what kind of rad. A thin 120mm strugles with a minor overclock, while a thick 140mm does pretty well

Higher temps causing the fan to speed up and etc... come on think here buddy

Going with noctuas - should be enough thanks

haven't thought about what size yet, I'll go with a 140 to be sure thanks - but will that still make it silent?

I'd recommend getting a 280mm thicker rad for best cooling. (if you can fit it, otherwise 240mm is your next best option)

It will be as silent as the fan speeds you run at. The fan speeds you run at will be determined by your target temperature (fan curve) and how much heat your CPU is outputting. How much heat your CPU outputs will be determined by how much you overclock it...

At stock, it should be near silent. With a insane OC, it will probably be loud. If your OC is somewhere in the middle, the noise will be somewhere between near silent and loud.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

The usual recomendation is get the biggest rad you can afford and fit. However if you really wanna have a single fan for whatever reason, a kraken X61 with a high quality aftermarket fan (noctua NF-A14) should work fine. I would consider getting a double rad tho, since they are actually quieter because you can run them at lower RPMs
