Power issues on a 3yrd old rig?

Update bios, reinstall windows.

Hi folks! My current rig has been acting up these past few days. Whenever I'd press the power button to turn it on, it automatically turns on for about half a second, powers down, then turns back on about a second later (stays on from then on). I've had this problem with my old rig that I replaced 3 years ago, which also had a Gigabyte motherboard (I don't remember the model), and the store I took it in for repairs just told me that it's a common problem with ageing Gigabyte boards. So I actually have two questions:

1. What's wrong with my current rig?

2. Was the tech I talked to right about Gigabyte, or was he just blowing smoke?

I'm currently plugged right into the wall right now, cause my AVR gave way a few days back (I'll be replacing it this weekend), and I live in a very humid place (if that matters at all). Thanks!

What kind of PSU are you running?

And what motherboard do you have?

If installing Windows 10 is gonna do the same thing, I'll probably just wait a few more days.

All good. I just updated my BIOS and it works like a charm. Phew...I let panic get the best of me again. Thanks mate.
