Hi guys, I recently built a custom loop. It went pretty smoothly and I got it up and running. But... its idle temp is around 55 C  :o . Does anyone have any idea as to why the temps are so high?!?! I thought I did everything correctly...

We'll need more info on the specs and components but mainly did you seat the block properly in place and remove that plastic film on the copper base before installing the CPU block.

Just check his profile for specs.

Ok, I know I took the plastic off the block, I don't think that the problem has to do with any of the water blocks because my gpu is just as hot as my cpu. The specs are as follows: I have an h-220x as a intake rad and pump, and a nemesis gts 360mm rad in the top of the case as exhaust. My cpu is a i5 3450, and my gpu is a gtx 580 hydro copper 2. I'm using swiftech helix fans in the h-220x's rad and reusing the case fans that came with my h440 for the 360mm rad. I think that part of the reason why the temps are so high is that there is no rear exhaust fan in the case. I had to take out the 140mm fan preinstalled because it wouldn't fit with my radiator fittings, and am trying to get a 120mm fan that will fit in there asap.

Fans on radiators should ideally be pressure oriented but will still work with airflow fans but not as efficiently. Is the 50C the CPU temp or GPU temp at idle, it's a bit odd why it would be so high, only thing I can think really is it needs to be remounted.
