Specs: Ubuntu 15.04 Gnome

 

Hi all i have recently tried moving to linux and have found that my games seem to run worse then they did on windows, i have tried both counter strike global offensive and minecraft and both seem to run worse on the linux platform. I have a feeling this may have something to do with not installing nvidia drivers, presumably im running on linux gfx drivers for compatibility but how do i get nvidia drivers for linux? all help is appreciated.

Yes, you do. Drivers fix almost all of that stuff and sometimes improve framerate compared to windows in some games.

There is an option to search for drivers integrated in Ubuntu. I can't remember exactly where but type drivers in search and it should pop up. Otherwise, go to Nvidia site and just download drivers for your GPU and select Ubuntu as OS.

Update: Now works bit of a hassle to install but now all up and running, one step closer to saying good bye to windows
