Keeping it simple, I have Windows 8.1 pro, my computer is connected to the internet via ethernet.

Like most people I'm looking afford to the Windows 10 update so I went to windows update and after finding 31 updates, I click to update let the update download. I went off to do something else and hours later I only was at 4% downloaded. Long story short some days later and using both using the 'Fix problems with windows update' and 'Windows Update Diagnostic' the only thing is that I know is that in C drive (OS drive) in Windows -> SoftwareDistribution -> Download it seems to make a folder delete it that make a new folder delete that make a new folder delete that, you get the point that just happens over and over. Currently I'm running the update and for and it is a 0% for a long time.

I'm just don't know what to do and if anyone can fix this you are my savior.

Your saying what I put here will be under my posts?

I'd do a clean install of Windows and be done with it.

If you want to try to fight it, uninstall one of the previous updates.  Then "CHECK FOR UPDATES" then install a update or two, then install more updates.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I tried thinking about this from a different angle. What about the 'Refresh your PC without affecting your files' or the 'Remove everything and reinstall Windows'.

Also I should of mentioned be for that I don't have a install DVD of the paper with the product key.

Either Microsoft's servers are under heavy load from the RTM, or your Windows Update is just bugged. To fix this:

Open Task Manager.

Click the Services tab.

Search for the service 'wuauserv'. It will have the description 'Windows Update'

Stop the service and restart the service.

Then try downloading again and it should help. If not, it is probably on Microsoft's end or your ISP is garbage.

The remove everything option, in theory, works.
