It's from 2014, it's against the rules to revive super old threads.

4.3 Thread Necroing
Thread necroing consists of reviving a previously resolved, settled, or "dead" thread after a prolonged period of time by the OP with the intention of bumping the thread to the top of the board. Threads with an activity gap of 1 month or greater that are brought back to the front page is considered "thread necroing". A shorter duration may be considered when dealing with situations like previously resolved threads being reposted or simply for the purpose of bumping it to the front page. Build logs are exempt from this rule.

Hah. Didn't see that. Funny because I scored 4 but I wasn't able to see the date.

I personally don't even see why it should be against the rules.... If the thread is there anyway, what's wrong with reviving it?

EDIT: That rule also only applies to the OP, who has the intention of bumping the thread.

because it's most likely no longer relevant.

A thread like that though? Also, read the edit on my previous post.

It's just easier to have it apply to all threads, and I'm not sure about it only being the OP bumping the thread. PM the mods about it.

Here is my problem, that does not meet the definition of Thread Necroing as defined by the CoC.

The OP did not post in the thread with the intention of bumping the thread to the top of the board. Therefore, that was not Thread Necroing, nor was it against CoC.

EDIT: I see I was beat by a mile... :(

PM'ed a mod to ask why it was locked.

I'm curious what they say as a reason.

If they want to lock threads simply because some one posted in an old thread that is cool, but I think they just need to update the CoC accordingly.

Probably due to the necro, but it wasn't me and I can't read the minds of who locked it. :D

A few of us have discussed it and decided to unlock again. Preferable to making a redundant
thread about it we reckon.
