Can't bind CTRL key to mouse

hi

i always used my razer naga to game with and had no problem binding ctrl key or any other key to the side thumb buttons on the mouse , but when i built my new gaming pc for some unknown reason the razer mouse will not work with the system.

i have resorted to buying Redragon M601 CENTROPHORUS mouse ,but i cant seem to bind CTRL key to the side buttons no matter what software i seem to try. They all seem to want you to use CTRL + "another key" and i just want CTRL alone.

 

anyone know how to get this done ?

Redragon products are POS and I imagine their software is the same. You might have been better off with a $3 OEM mouse

Ctrl, Shift and Alt are modifier keys and you can't bind a button to it. This is not a bug with the software, it's just how keyboards work. Pressing Ctrl, Alt or Shift at a Press Any Key prompt won't detected too.

i have also used 3rd party software like X-Mouse Button Control and still no luck.

nope same OS windows 8.1

the razer allowed me too bind just ctrl only to a single button

i was just using razer synapse software customize tab to do it not the macro tab i never used it. you just click cutomize tab and it show a pic of the mouse and you click the button you want to change and a box comes up and has options i choose keyboard function and then hit ctrl and viola , but my naga wont work any more on the new pc

it says usb error device descriptor failed or something like that. i spent 2 days messing with it and never got it to work , but it worked on previous pc and still works on all other pc's in the house
