Hi, yes i made a previous post about upgrading my AMD which got closed due to intel fanboys so not again!! I know intel is better but then again i payed next to nothing for this processor and i do not wish to replace it thanks :)

The previous posts was more for upgrading the system ready for 1440p freesync gaming, going from this:

AMD FX 8350 stock 4 ghz

R9 290 XFX DD Edition

8 Gb Crucial Ballistic

1 Tb SSHD

750w Artic (not Arctic, Artic) blue+

Zalman z11 plus

at the time i needed to build it for as cheap as possible and the whole system cost me around £550 (probably around $600-650) due to amazon deals, the plan for upgrading was purely because i can now spend more money on the system i want to give it a bit more horse power, so this is what i was planning for it:

AMD FX 8350 4.7 ghz (over clocked due too a new motherboard(MSI 990FX-GD65 which is an on going decision) and a water cooler)

R9 290 XFX DD Edition Crossfire

16 Gb Crucial Ballistic

5 Tb SSHD (via adding an extra 4 Tb)

Cooler Master V1000 PSU

Zalman H1 (the upgrade in case is just my decision after seeing it i decided i would get it and keep the Zalman Z11 plus as a back up/spare)

The reason for these upgrades was for gaming at 1440p freesync monitor, but after doing a little bit of research i discovered that 290's in crossfire could render games at 4k (with a little overclocking and with the XFX DD cooler isn't a problem) and that the 4k freesync monitor was cheaper for some reason, this is a bit of a discussion if components, but i do not wish to replace the following products:

AMD FX 8350

R9 290 XFX DD Edition

1 Tb SSHD

The reasons for keeping these parts are because the CPU was a STEAL! for £100, to replace it would be expensive to match the performance of one overclocked :) the reason for the graphics card is again because the money, if i was to buy another 290 it would cost £200-250 and buying a fury x or a 980 ti (due to crossfire beating 780s etc) would set me back £600-700 which in my opinion isn't worth it the SSHD due to it having the OS and all my games(in case anyone is wondering this machine would be used for games such as GTA V and Far Cry 4) being installed already.

So what i wanna know is the opinions of people who have a system similar to this running at 4k to let me know how gaming goes and how the system performs at 4k in general.

Thanks in advance  :D

If you're going to be playing GTA V, I would get a ssd.  I don't know about sshds but there are performance issues with hdds where textures and such aren't being loaded in fast enough. Y

With my rig how it is now, the only issues i have had are stuttering mainly when driving (while fps is above 45-70 due to the large map sometimes it gets higher and lower), although from what i've read its due to it being 8 gigs of ram, hence the upgrade to 16 gigs.
