Windows Copies?

I will be building an extremely budget PC soon and one thing that is really holding me back is the operating system. All copies of windows that I can find on amazon or pcpartpicker are at least $100. Which when building an extremely budget PC, really scrapes a lot off of your budget.

 

However, I have heard at multiple places (being this forum and the teksyndicate youtube channel) that you can get copies of windows for free or extremely cheap if you know where to go. Well, I, however, don't know where to go without being scammed or my computer being filled with viruses from some torrent or other shady download site.

 

So, does anyone know where I can find said cheap or free copies of windows (I don't care if its 7, 8, or 8.1, especially with the new windows 10 upgrade coming)?

g2a or u can download da windows 10 preveiw and basically be a beta tester forever but u have to install all the updates they give u

There's a caveat to the Windows 10 thing.

 

Microsoft are no longer rolling out the Technical Preview. You can use it, for sure, but you can't download it from the site anymore.
