I'm currently trying to install the windows 10 beta on to my PC and it's asking me to install drivers so I put in my mobo driver disk and it detected "Intel® 8 series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller" When I click the Ok button it says:

"No new device drivers where found. Make sure the instillation media contains the new drivers, then click Ok."

Please help. :)

I have also tried using a disk with the latest windows 10 drivers on and I had the same results.

A disk for the drivers as I didn't have a different USB stick to use.

Drivers have specific versions for different Windows versions... You need to wait for an official Windows 10 driver.

I also tried to with the Windows 10 drivers on the Asus website and they came up with the same results.

NEVER use the motherboard installation CD, those things were made by Satan.

Download them from the websites, and install them that way.

I've done that aswell and it didn't work with the official Windows 10 drivers.

Just skip it during the install. When you boot in then get the drivers you need.

I can't just skip it, it doesn't give me that option.

Unless I'm missing somthing?

Wehre are you in the install? Just go back, maybe you clicked on manually installing drivers or something.

I literally just clicked Install it then asked me what countrie I was in and then it went straight to the driver bit.

That's weird. It shouldn't even do that because there aren't even any drivers for Windows 10 yet.

There are drivers for windows 10 out at the moment.

Yes, but most manufacturers wait until RTM to start developing certified drivers. I suppose Windows 10 will be getting a whole lot more driver support since it has reached RTM. I would wait a little or look for Windows 10 chipset drivers. I don't know why your install wants them so bad, though.

I just really need to activate the Beta so that I can get the upgrade to windows 10 for free.

I installed it from WIndows 8.1 using the Windows Update. But I think Microsoft locked that feature now, along with releasing the new builds and some other things so they had more time to RTM.

Do you have any screenshots? That could definitely help.

Can't really do either of those as I'm upgrading from Linux and I'm trying to upgrade on the same pc that I'm using to communicate with you.

Oh, so you still have access to the PC through Linux? Try reimaging the USB. It could have copied wrong and not copied over the included drivers. I recommend using Rufus to do this, and it could also be a problem with Wine (if you're using that). I tried imaging a Linux distro to my USB this morning, but Wine screwed it up and it wouldn't recognize my USB.

Can't use Rufus as for some reason my software manager is broken, I'm using Linux Mint 17.

Yeesh, I use Ubuntu, so there is a problem with that. Can you get a PC with Windows on it and try reimaging the USB drive you're using to install Win10?

Yes I have found a preinstalled usb image writer program so I'm going to try using that but I think I will download the latest version of win 10 first.

That might help, lol. I think you can only download Build 10162. The latest is 10166 if you're on the Fast Ring. Just download from Microsoft's website.
