Currently I have it running at 3.5ghz without overclocking it. Runs at about 50C with one of my more intensive games.

What should I try to bump it up to, if at all?

What cooler do you have? If it's decent you should be able to do what's below:

Try changing VCCIN to 1.825, vcore to 1.2v and try 44 as your cpu multiplier.

No need to change the VCCIN. Just leave it in Auto.

What is VCCIN and what does it do?

It is the only voltage the motherboard gives the cpu on haswell, then the vrms on the chip divide it up to the different parts of the cpu. Like the memory controller, the cpu v core, the cache voltage etc.

When you increase vcore or a different voltage, it usually helps with stability to slightly increase vccin.

In some instances, when the vcore is set to a high amount I find an elevated VCCIN crucial to stabilizing an overclock. But that's typically for 1.4v and up unless you have some whacko low VCCIN setting.

There is a guide in my siggy and there are countless threads on the internet for this kind of stuff.

It's the cpu input voltage. The vcore is the voltage that goes through the cores.

It's okay though. Mobos usually set the VCCIN to 1.9v. OP could try to lower it when he achieves his target OC, as it lowers the temps. Other than that is pretty much useless to mess with it.

Mobo usually set it to 1.775 to 1.8, I've never seen a board deliver 1.9 at stock settings.

Disagree, as I've stated in my OP. Also, my guide states that I did testing with Prime 28.3 checking with HWinfo and I did not detect change in temperatures from increasing VCCIN. If it's there, it's not a big difference. What stress test a person decides is far more important.

Have you tested whether VCCIN increased temperatures?

Idk man, I'm just assuming input voltage messes with temps.

Also I don't really get why you're stress testing your haswell cpu with a higher version than 26.6 of Prime95.

I did that because I wanted to detect smaller increases in temperature. 27.9 for Haswell is OK-ish too. I didn't assume, I went out of my way to test stuff. And again, I believe that VCCIN is useful for nailing that high vcore overclocks.

If you're not interested in the accuracy of your comments, then it would make no difference to you. Perhaps it's best not to give advice if that's how you're going to roll.

For the sake of reason, your comment is as accurate as mine. To me it made no difference, as for you, you believe it makes a difference.

If you google a bit, you'll encounter some people also saying the same thing as I do. That's maybe because almost everyone overclocking Haswells completely ignores VCCIN and just leaves it on Auto.

Having fun over here?

No.

Considering I have AFAIK the largest Haswell forum thread on the internet, I would think I know what I'm talking about.

Guess not.

Maybe because 90% of the people overclocking haswell are clueless and lazy and only change vcore and multiplier.

I'd trust Dark_wizzie and myself personally, as I'm VERY highly ranked on hwbot.org and wizzie runs one of, if not the largest haswell overclocking threads on the Internet.
