Well damn I tried finding a page like that a few minutes ago on my phone while I was out and couldn't. Thanks. Seems like windows 8.1 pro is worthless for a gaming build.

Yup, much rather 7 or when 10 comes out 10 because it seems relatively promising

Sig under construction.

Actually, no. Get 8.1 regardless. It's actually a better OS than people give credit for.

That's a comparison between the standard and Pro editions. For gaming, the Pro edition is worthless for what it provides, and is intended for businesses.

pro is mostly for power users and companies, as "the average joe" you dont have much profit from it.

I'll wait a few months until they get all of the bugs out before I even think about getting 10 :P and tbh I'm one of those people that hates to change operating systems. If I could easily find a retail version of Windows 7 I would get that instead.

Personally, I believe you should skip both of them. Windows 7 Ultimate is what I had (I've since upgraded to Windows 10, and I like it much better) since 2010, and it's greater than 8.1 and 8.1 Pro combined. But technically what you could do is just get the cheapest version of Windows available (probably Windows 7 HP) and just upgrade to 10 for free.

Only thing I'm worried about is the compatibility of games with 10.

That's my issue as well.

Only really for flight sim x as I don't use the steam edition (only because I've managed to perfect the settings and addons for it). I know that it has issues on 8/8.1 and probably will on 10
