Hello people! Im planning on getting a new notebook in few days and I need help. I have two choices. Those are;

1) 15.6'' Full HD 1920x1080 Matte Screen (not IPS), i7 4710MQ (2.5GHz > 3.50GHz), 16GB (2x8) DDR3L 1600MHz 1.35V, 1TB 7200RPM, 8GB GTX 980M 256 bit GDDR5

2)17.3'' Full HD 1920x1080 Matte Screen (not IPS), i7 4790K (4.0GHz > 4.4Ghz), 8GB (1x8) DDR3L 1600MHz 1.35V, 1TB 7200RPM, 6GB GTX970M 192 bit GDDR5

Im sure you saw the video about Sager. 2nd choice is kinda like that. Same case and all, just lower specs. So my problem is, I dont play games like LoL and such. So, as you can see from my choices, I need as much power as I can get for gaming. I dont plan on rendering stuff (not yet at least) so 4790K is kinda overkill maybe? But we are all about overkills in linus media group  B) . So, show me the way of light here boys. Which one should I go with? Both of them are the same price.

I'd probably go for Option #1. The 980M is still a decent bit faster than the 970M and to be honest I imagine the 4710MQ will reach high turbo speeds quite often, and the 4790K wont.

I would actually go with the second one lol.

I find that because the GPUs in these type of machines are typically built on MXM modules and can be replaced down the road and I don't mind having a little fewer horses here as I can upgrade it down the road when newer cards come out. But whereas for the CPU, because it is more widely available as compared to mobile CPUs, it also makes upgrades here a little easier.

Yes they can be replaced but when you think about it, replacing the card with 980m afterwards and putting few ssd and ram in there will cost a lot. And where I live, prices are off the charts. They are absolutely crazy. For example a 800$ build will cost me 1200-1500$ if Im lucky. On the other hand, screen being 17.3'' and me going to computer engineering this year kinda helps..? Less mobility but bigger screen for my studies. Also much better looking. I dont know, I need to decide it today because Im going to buy it tomorrow. :c

Meh, I won't replace it with a 980M. I would wait for the next gen one. In the mean time, I would tinker with overclocking the GPU.
