Hello there! Soon I'm looking to splash £500 on a portable PC that I can take out and about with me when I go to work, family places etc. (This would also act as a server for me and my friends when I'm not out and about with it)

I have two requests:

1) To spend no more than £500, this including an OS (I can get Windows 8.1 From G2A For £25Ish)

2) I would like it to be as quiet as possible and in the Aerocool Dead Silence Gaming Cube case.

Thank you :D

This PC will be used for light gaming and photoshop + after effects editing. Also could you please build it on PCPartPicker.

With that budget - what kind of gaming are you considering?

"light gaming" So thinks like Terraria, Trove, CS:GO etc, I think the Superclocked 750ti would serve that well, which is around £130 I believe.

Nothing special (plus first time I've ever used PCPP)

Since there wasn't really any context as to what you wanted to do with the build, I went for a basic office/production with a little gaming in mind kinda theme.

Gaming/Folding rig: Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced White | MSI Z77A-G43 | Intel Core i7 3770k @ 4.4GHz | 10GB G.Skill RAM | Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 | Samsung 840 Pro 128GB | Seagate 2TB | Seagate 2TB | WD Blue 640GB | Cogage Arrow (Passive) | Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675w | Windows 10 Pro

This is a good build, but I would love to have a GPU in it.

It's an APU :)

Honestly I chose that because £500 is a fairly limiting budget, my process of choosing that hardware was so you can easily upgrade to a mid-range GPU in the not so distant future, but it's a rig to get you started until you reach that point.

Watch this, the APU's are pretty nifty if you know what settings to limit your games to so you don't overwhelm them.

Yeah I guess it is, I will note it and see if anyone comes up with anything better.

This is a solid all round build. A 120GB Samsung 850-EVO SSD would make for a nice upgrade as a boot drive. As for silence, with that budget you cannot really be picky. The CPU will be able to handle gaming and Photoshop with no problems. The 750Ti is the best one available. Decent no frills motherboard, and 8GB is enough for RAM, although you might want to go for a single 8GB stick so that you have the option to add another one in the future for a total of 16GB of RAM.

You're welcome! I have refined it a bit:

Added a single 8GB stick for £4 less, which gives later upgrade ability, and upgraded the HDD to a Caviar Blue, which is more reliable and slightly faster, while making the overall price of the build rise by £4. Worth it in my opinion. You could shave a couple of pounds by going with a 400-450W PSU, but the 500W allows you to upgrade to a beefier GTX960/970 in the future, while coming with a nice 80+Bronze for a VERY good price. Cable management will be a little bit tricky, as it is not modular, but you pay a lot more for modular PSUs, so, beggars can't be choosers xD.

This is far better than the apu build. It offers better fps in games, both with a stronger cpu, and far better graphics solution.

Did some more digging around, Intel prices were much more reasonable than I thought  :P

Here's a better build, though it is slightly over budget.
