Hey guys, my brothers headset broke and he needs a new one. He asked me to recommend him one since I'm the tech guy, but i ahve no idea either. :D

I was looking for something around the 100€ mark (more is also ok) that is comfortable for long gaming sessions and has a good mic. The general audio quality should also be good, since he's also going to listen to some music - mostly heavy metal - so please no overly emphazised "GAMING BASS".

That being said, i have looked at some of the more expensive headsets like the Sennheiser Game Zero and One, however i find them too good as a headphone to use them just as a headset. That's why i want to keep it in the simple middle range with emphasis on comfort and good audio quality.

Leave suggestions, experiences what ever, i appreciate your help. ;)

Edit: Budget was raised to 200€! This means that i am searching for a qualitativeley very nice headset with excellent sound quality, no more dumming down because it's "just a headset". My brother said that he prefers a headset, so an AIO solution over ModMics or Desk mics + headphones. So pure Headsets please. :)

who cares...

Best sound quality from a "gaming headset" (cringe..) you can get. http://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Mobile/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1436767136&sr=1-2&keywords=hyper+x+cloud

at that price

It doesn't necessarily have to be branded as a "gaming" headset, but i think there are no other headsets anyways. :P

So did you have any experience with the clouds? Why are they the best headsets concerning sound?

I think linus also did a video on them? Gonna check when i come home from work today.

YEah check linus' video. You'd probably understand better from him than me typing it out. My girlfriend has a cloud and i like it. I still prefer the feel of senhiesers and their open back design.

Wireless I'd suggest the other 2. Let me see if they have them in Euro though. xD

It has bass control, so you can turn up the bass all da way or turn it all the way off and not have that booming bass...or, just center it. There's a nice bit of settings with this and works on various platforms.

Turtle beach have a bad reputation in my eyes, i have a hard time recommending them :D

I'll look into the other ones allthough the Clouds look like a good option. :D

By "sennheisers" you mean the game one/zero? I didnt know there were any open back headsets at all. :D

Could be an interesting option for music reasons. But like i said, they are probably too good for just being headphones(?)

I read the Game Zero have the same driver? So they are comparable in sound quality...

Edit: ModMic is another option, allthough that would subtract 50€ from the Headphones themselfs. Any suggestion for headphones under 80€ max.? :D i think he would prefer closed back, even though he likes metal.
