You'll probably want to downgrade that i7 unless you're going to be rendering and editing. What are your uses?

It will work just fine, though for a setup like this I would opt for at least an 80+ Gold PSU.

Why a gold PSU? It's only power efficency and usage and power is cheap here so.

your build is good, but it has some really expensive parts

i would go with a seasonic psu instead. better quality. i think your motherboard is way too expensive. is there something on there that he absolutely needs? that hdd is super expensive as well for what it is. i would go with a hybrid sshd at 4tb instead. i would also go for a better gpu with the savings. here's what i think:
