for reference: if you know what settings to mess with even a GT640 can do 1440p.

if OP spends some time with settings this'll be a pretty good build.

Yeah that looks like a good setup for 1080p gaming. Recently I went from a gtx 650 ti (non boost) to a gtx 970, yeah big upgrade, but I was playing high settings 1080p on games like : counterstrike GO, CoD World at War, and a few others so I think you will fair much better than I did.
