So, yesterday I buildt my first PC (yay)

Had some troubles installing windows (it didn't detect my external optical drive) and my hard drive failed so I needed to use another one, though after that I was able to install drivers etc. and even a couple of Games. I didn't play anything that day. Next day, I logged into windows just fine, and just as I launched WoWs, the system powered itself down. I then turned it back on, the fans and the LED on my GPU where on for ~1 second and then the system powered itself down again... It got stuck in a loop (fans + LED on for ~1 second, system power down. Fans + LED on for ~1 second, system power down etc.) untill I had to turn off the power switch on the back of my PSU. I didn't even get to the point where I could get into the Bios. I tried switching from Bios A to Bios B, it didn't help. Dr. Debug didn't report anything

?it's powering down to protect itself?

I was a little messy with the thermal compound (could it be that?)

My specs:

Intel I5 4690K

ASRock Z97 extreme4

MSI Geforce GTX 960 (4gb edition)

Phanteks PH-TC14PE

Corsair RM550

Cooler Master HAF 912 advanced

Anything I could do???

UPDATE:

Tried to turn it on again and it started again with the Dr. Debug saying: 1b

Sounds like power supply failure.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

everything turns on for ~1 second though?

I know, just long enough for the computer to get all the devices turned on and  start to pull some juice.  Have you unplugged the PSU yet and give it some time to discharge by pressing the power button, while its unplugged, for about 10-20 seconds?

I agree with Jeff. Check that all of your cables and components are properly in their sockets. Also go online to a site like PCPartPicker.com, builder your PC in their tool with all of the exact parts and see if you're I using too much power.

Should I try to turn it on again after I did what you suggested?

Is it possible it could be anything else in my system?

I mean it IS the PSU... if it was anything else it either wouldn't turn on at all or it would stay on and just not POST.
