Windows 10 Upgrade

I know this is stupid ,but if i upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10 when it comes out, will i be able to do a clean install with nothing on it the hard drive?

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K CPU Cooler: Corsair H55 Motherboard: ASUS Z97I-Plus Mini ITX. Video Card: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC Video Card

 

Memory: 8 GB (2x4) G.Skill Ripjaw X Series DDR3-1600 Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB SSD + 2x Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB OS: Windows 10 64bit

 

 

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W Case: Corsiar 250D

its an update

 

you basically upgrade your OS, not do a clean install

 

I'm hoping there is a way to get the win 10 key after upgrading, or using your old 7/8 key to do a full clean install

Yes. You can do a fresh Windows 10 install the same way you can with Windows 8/8.1. You just need the ISO file from Microsoft, extract it to a USB drive or a disk, boot from it, and complete the installer. I've done it at least three times at this point with Windows 10.

 

Edit: I know you can at least download the Insider preview right now for free so I recommend doing that because I don't know if it will be the same way when it comes out.
