25" QHD or 27" 1080p

MasterAli

I think 27 inch for 1080p close by as in a computer monitor is too low dpi nowadays. You should look at a 24 inch 1080p and only go for a 27" display if it's 1440p or 4k

If you can run it then go for the QHD, the PPI would be insane, so insane that a lot of the images on screen will look superb. Bit of a monitor noob, but if I were you I'd compromise and go for 27"+ 1440p monitor because that still allows you to have a high PPI count and a large display.

You haven't really given us a use case... these are very different use cases. I would only recommend 27" 1080p displays if you spend a lot of time consuming video media and don't have a TV you use for that. 27" might be pushing it for some types of gaming because it takes up so much of your field of view depending on how close you sit. 25" 1440p will allow you to run a lot of programs on the screen and is a middle of the road display size, but things will definitely be smaller than many people are comfortable with, so take that into consideration. What do you want the display to do for you?

25 inch QHD all the way. Scaling will get better and the high ppi is very nice to have. I am looking at buying a 4k 28inch right now. I really like shard displays.

I had a pair of 27" 1080p monitors and I will echo the thoughts of people who say it's too low of a DPI. I have pretty good eyesight, and based off of my experiences, I would say 1080p is perfect if your display is 23" or less. 1440p is perfect for 27" or less, and UHD is good for anything above 30". There are exceptions you can make, but I wouldn't use a smaller resolution for a larger screen based on those findings unless you're sitting several feet away.

I'm going to be doing school work, gaming, and photo editing in that order of priority. I think I'm leaning twords a 25" QHD or maybe a 23" 1080p. Then I could save more and get a 27" QHD display later this year.

Okay nice. I am actually about to buy a Dell U2515H I think, the Acer G257HU is tempting at $250, but I don't like the Acer warranty and have seen a bad example of QA from them already. The choice between 27" and 25" is a tough one, but there are many more choices in 27" space. I like the portability offered by the 25" option though as 27" monitors aren't something you carry with 1 hand really haha. If I didn't have to move my setup every few months that wouldn't be a factor of course.
