Good headphones?

Go to solution Solved by Snazzy,

Eh, i listen to music and i game or watch youtube. But i really like the quality, just relaxing and listening to the sound :P

Beyerdynamic custom one pro

Audio technica m50x

Sennheiser 598

V moda crossfade lp

Okay i was gonna recommed these but agent beat me to it. There are also the beyerdynamic Dt 770,880,990 pro versions. If you can find them as 32 ohm versions for the price. your motherboard might also be able to drive the 80 ohm versions.

Hello people, right now I'm stuck with the Earforce Z11's for headphones and really want an upgrade.

First, what would be a good upgrade to great sounding headphones, within the range of 100 to 200 dollars

Secondly, ill need a soundcard or a DAC to make it sound good enouph, any good ones out there?

Last;y, I have a Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and it supposedly has like extra power for a specific usb port for audio, so im guessing if i got a DAC it would go in there? Or maybe i sould just get a DAC beucase of that benifit from my motherboard, so they can work together...

Thanks everyone :)

The Sennheiser hd 598 is pretty good. You wouldn't really need a dac though.

SNIP

Honestly most $100-$200 headphone will not greatly benefit from a DAC

What they are doing right now is separating the board and the audio section itself to reduce that little hiss you would get on some devices, they have improved a lot of the sound already in many of the z97 mobo to older ones so you already will be receiving good sound unless you have headphones that needs a day to drive power to it.

I the price point of $100-$200 there only a few that are good and don't need a dac.
