My computer won't start at all. I press the power button and nothing happens.

Little history of my pc: About one and a half months ago I did a fresh windows 7 install. Two weeks ago I started having problems getting it to boot. After trial and error I found out that if I unplugged the ethernet cable, hard switched off and on the power supply, it would boot and work without any further problems. On bad days I would have to unplug everything (all internal/external drives and devices) and even pull out the graphics card, power it on once (leds on the motherboard lit up), before plugging everything back in and restarting it normally.

Today nothing would work. After some further troubleshooting I suspected the power supply. Another old unit I had lieing around at least got the fans spinning. Went out, bought a new one, installed it and I still have the same problem. The whole system is dead. not a single light or fan turns on. Even when it's just the cpu, power, and power button plugged into the motherboard

What else could I try? Is there a chance to save it? I really didn't plan to build a completely new system so soon.

the specs as far as I know them

Intel Core i5 2500K 6MB
Gigabyte P67A-UD3
4x Kingston 2GB 1600MHz DDR3
MSI R6950

my new power supply is a beQuiet L8 530W (semi modular)

Thank you for your help!
