Hi Everyone.

Not sure if I am allowed to post threads like this but I'll give it a go.

My mum has an iPad 2 that I jail broke for her years ago.

I'm going to get rid of the jailbreak for her by just updating the iPad to the most recent iOS over iCloud.

When I upgrade the OS, will it get rid of the jailbreak completely and make the iPad back to normal AND not affect any of the apps, photos etc.

Will it just remove the jailbreak?

Thanks for any help guys.

Nope. The only way to get rid of it is by Restoring it with iTunes. This will remove everything.

So, if I done a backup of the iPad right now on iTunes with the jailbreak still on, restore the iPad, then restore from the backup, will that get everything back?

I doubt that it will work, but give it a try. Nobody really knows what exactly the iTunes backup backs up, so I'm not sure if it will include the jailbreak. But I suggest that you back up the important stuff somewhere else too, like cloud storage.
