Cherry switches feel different when you type on them compared to membrane (regular) keyboards.  Most people prefer the feel of Cherry switches, and there are several different types.  You will basically have to go to a store like Fry's or Best Buy or Microcenter if you have one near you and look for some mechanical keyboards to try out, then you will understand the difference.  It is hard to explain with text or pictures.  Look for a store with a Razer Black Widow on display or something, that's usually the one you'll find on store shelves the most.

Most mechanical keyboards are higher build quality as well.

But i have another question :P

Is it hard to push cherry switches

or are they like laptop keyboard buttons:)

they dont need more force in general , the switches are just more precise, Of course it depends what switches you get, but say reds, which are used in most gaming keyboards, dont require much force at all, they just have a linear constant feel when pressing.

Depends on which switches you use ^^

Blacks -> Hard to push react in a straight line

Reds -> Easy to push react in a straight line

Blues -> Little softer to push than blacks, and have this tactile click about halfway through

Browns -> Little softer to press than blues, same tactile click.

Black / Red / Brown -> Quiet

Blue  -> Very clicky ^^ [<3 them]

oh and there's greens, really hard to press and click, but hard to find ^^

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

There are many varieties, named by color.  Brown and Red only require very light touch.  Blue, black, and clear take more.  Green takes a lot.

"Hard" as in 60cN for actuation.

Still isn't a lot, but hard compared to red with 45cN.

Not as hard as some of the cherry switches for non keyboard use, or superblacks.
