Best GPU for GTA 5

I've been playing gta 5 for about a few weeks and I've notices a little bit of lag. I do benchmark tests and get average 30-40 fps. I play with settings at very high and ultra for a few settings, but texture settings at normal. I had to get a low end gpu or suffer with Intel HD Graphics 4400, so I got the Radeon Sapphire R7 265. I want to play gta 5 at 60fps+ and at max settings. I currently have a 60hz 1080p monitor and plan to get a 4k monitor with 120hz or more. If I do get a 4k monitor, what gpu should I get, High-End or not I don't care too much.

I had the r7 265 it worked ok at high settings. Get a 970 or 980. Whats your cpu anyway?

The 980Ti is a very good GPU for GTA V at 4K. If you can afford it I would go with dual Titan Xs.

For 1080p though, almost any card will be able to play it, but I would say get a 980. (GTA V is more optimized for Nvidia.)

265 getting 60+ fps running 1080p max? My 7870 (270X) can only get solid 60 at 1080p high...

4K 120hz in never happening with any cards on the market right now.

Yeah the technology isn't quite there yet... maybe with the release of NVIDIA Pascal in 2016 with quad-SLI you might get lucky to break 60fps stable with GTA V maxed out at 4K resolutions... That or disable any anti aliasing since it's not so much needed at 4K.

I think you should get a 390, 390X or Fury X. Or if you also are gonna sell your house for the rig then 980Ti or Titan X!

970 is the way to go for the money and anything lower won't do much over 40 FPS also a good cpu is to be noted for instance I had a 970 with a crappy quad 2 core processor maybe got like 35 40 FPS.
