Simple Question: About DVI Cable

Can I plug a DVI D Cable (the 24 + 1) in the DVI I Port (the 24 + 4 +1) and will this work?

Yes as long as you are not trying to adapt to a VGA connection on the monitor end.

Yes, that will work. The extra pins are only extra, to support VGA adapters.

The two are compatible. As already stated, the extra pins on a DVI-I connector are for VGA adapters - the extra pins carry analog signals.
