Server and Network Switch

Hello Guyz, im not sure if this is in the right place, but here we go

 

 

I have plugged in the main ethernet cable into the server ( INternet Connection) and what i'm trying to do know is connect my network switch into the 2ND NIC, so all the data and connections are running through the server, but everytime i try to do this, i get no internet connection through the network switch to my macbook or pc

So...from your modem/router to the server, then back out to a switch which then leads to the rest of the house?  NICs don't work that way.  Your switch has to be in between the internet cable and all other devices.

yes that s the way i was talking about.... i did bridge the connections and that worked fine, but not sure if thats a reliable way, how would you suggest doing it?

Why not do it normally, from internet to switch, then from switch to everything else

Yeah, can do i suppose, i got the idea from the network switch manual, it showed a pic, from router to server then to switch but never mind

That is probably for you to access the server from the outside, and not as a passthrough for internet access through the server NICs
