I'm confused as to how Nvidia grid can stream 1080p 60fps?

Surely each displayed frame has a huge file size in itself so how on earth could you received 60 frames each second? Also, how would it be possible to have such a low latency to your home when even the best connections have around 15ms of latency which would severly affect gameplay?

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Well, you probably don't want to use it if you live in the middle of Montana where the only thing used to communicate is a mountain goat and a sticky note. You're going to have to have pretty beefy internet.

But it says you only need about 15mbps whereas I have about 160mbps down but I still don't get how that would work...

If I'm not mistaken all your doing is decoding a video signal. The Nvidia servers are doing all the heavy lifting so you aren't having to deal with the huge file size. Like streaming Netflix. The latency comes into play when you push a button...it goes to the server and back to your screen which honestly isn't great. It's fine for the likes of Allen wake but not so much for fps games

Extreme compression, in regards to latency, I dont think Grid would be appropriate for multiplayer games because of the latency, however for single player I don't think it'd be to big of an issue. I guess 15ms delay is 15 frame delay if you're streaming 60FPS, right?

It 0.9 frame delay.

And I don't know what's so special about 1080p60 streaming YouTube does it with less than 6mbit OK you have to compress it in real time and low latency but that's not a big issue.

True, but you mouse + keyboard inputs have to be sent to the Nvidia servers and back to you with very little delay to make it an enjoyable experience..?

Sure, you could also try to predict the input from the user. I bet a good algorithm could at least help a bit.
