So my friend has a prebuilt, Gateway FX 6850-47C, so it has a SB 2600, and an  AMD 6770, I'm upgrading him to a 760, his tower has a 750 watt (im assuming) off branded power supply, will it still juice up the 760 and such? I assume it's fine, it's just the off brand that might draw some concern for me.

check the amparage, see if it has multiple 12v rails and if it has the right connectors, if all thats good you should be fine.

you'd think that system would come with a 6850

all the numbers and info should be on one side of the psu.  the pcie power in may be just lying around.

The 760 uses very little power--probably.

Specs of your psu would help.

It was a friends pre-built, it was 750 watts, at least 2 12V rails, maybe 3, I saw 12V1, 12V3, then figured I was fine. It was the Zotac 760 that used 2 6 pin powers, which his psu easily had. Thanks guys!
