I already made a post about this, and the two recommendations i received were the DSX and Fiio E10

Both are great sounds cards, no doubt, But the Fiio E10 needs to be shipper from overseas, which may or may not be expansive, plus the lack of warranty deters me from getting it, on the other hand, the DSX is good, and i can buy in my country, for 120$, which is reasonable, but since i currently use a matx mobo with sli config, i do not have any more space to add a sound card.

So i looked into external sound cards, and i found this one:

http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-XFi-Surround-5.1/M/B0044DEDCA.htm

In israel it costs 100 bucks, with i currently have, but the question is if i should get it.

My headphones are the SRH-840, and my speakers are the SOLO7C

I'm no pro when it comes to sound cards, i don't even know what they help, but since i have high end headphones i guess i need them.

from my knowledge, for every sound card there is some type of eq, bass heavy etc, and i want to know how does this sound card behave, and if it fits my headphones.

Sorry for the long post, Since i might get it tomorrow, i want to make sure i am not buying anything that is not the best for the price point.

What is your opinion about this sound card, and since in my previous post someone mentioned that both speakers and headphones will work at the same time if connected, will this happen to this sound card as well?

Thanks for the help.

It's got a good average rating. 4 stars out of 213 reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Soundblaster-Surround-System-SB1095/dp/B0044DEDCA

how does it stand up compared to the DSX or the fiio E10? since those are my other choices

I can't vouch for creative but I absolutely love my Fiio E10. You cannot go wrong with that device.

Then should i get a DSX or a DX? i don't really want to order from overseas

How much is shipping overseas? Or is the extended delivery time the issue?

neither as you don't have an open slot.

you could get something like an iBasso d-zero.

They ship from china, but I didn't run into any fees, and they may fudge the numbers to reduce fees.

Will work for electronic components and parts

After seeing some revives on the E10

http://www.head-fi.org/products/fiio-e10/reviews

i am not sure about getting it, 29% voted 5 stars, as well 3 and two, seems like more hate it then love it.

Mixed reviews. I can't imagine the creative card getting anything better. Anything from Creative seems like a joke to me.

for some of my friends it took 1 month to arrive, and for sound cards i believe it's 35% tax, with 12 bucks for shipping, and bam, it costs 90 bucks

Still worth it for the FiiO, imo.

I skimmed through quite a few of those reviews, most of the negative reviews were Head-Fi users nitpicking about the EQ like Head-Fi users do, not objective reviews. I take everything I read on Head-Fi with a teaspoon of salt.

+1 these people have a certain sickness. buy a new set of ear gear, get on the forums rant and rave about them and review them and then sell them a couple days later to move onto the next big thing.

although I must say it is sooooooo freaking infectious I have to exercise extreme restraint after I lurk around there, its so easy to get caught up in the buy buy buy mentality.

Thanks for explaining this for me. People on head-fi tend to act like elitists. If you don't do something their way (in which they believe is superior) sometimes you can be deemed or treated lesser of a person.
